A Call to Worship
Easter 2C 2010
Psalm 150
We come to worship God, and we sing a chorusof ‘Hallelujahs’ in the highest of the heavens.
We glorify the Living Lord.
We come to pray with joy and blessedness, praising
all of God’s wondrous acts of grace and mercy.
We worship the Living Lord.
We come to sing and make music in praise of God!
Music that is celestial and sublime; music that is
beyond description, the music of joyful praise!
We praise of the Living Lord. Amen.
Prayers of Praise
Easter 2C 2010
Psalm 150
In awe and wonder, we come in prayer. We offer our praise tothe Lord and Creator of all things. Life in all its many expressions
is continually offering a refrain, all things are showing something of
the glory of the Living Lord, and for this we praise you, O God.
The heavens are telling us, the earth is teaching us, and we are
learning from outer space - all things are showing something of
the glory of the Living Lord, and for this we praise you, O God.
Creation is educating us, the weather is enlightening us, and we
are learning from geology - all things are showing something of
the glory of the Living Lord, and for this we praise you, O God.
Our basic nature is seeking to know, our intuition is sensing things,
and our inner-being is seeing - all things are showing something of
the glory of the Living Lord, and for this we praise you, O God.
Our past is reminding us, our memory is recollecting for us, our
family history is revealing to us - all things are showing something of
the glory of the Living Lord, and for this we praise you, O God.
Our trust in God is abiding, our faith is reassuring, and our hope is
anticipating due to previous experiences - all things are showing some
-thing of the glory of the Living Lord, and for this we praise you, O God. Amen.
A Personal Meditation
Easter 2C 2010
Psalm 150
Humanity delights in the Living Lord, the Creating Lord, the Mighty Lord, the Eternal Lord, the Loving Lord.
All humanity with its multiplicity of sounds and rhythms,
sounds in harmony or discord, rhythms primal or complex,
songs from the ancient past, or in modern interpretation,
each one giving praise to the Living Lord.
Creative pause: | God is deep within me. |
All Creation delights in the Living Lord, the Creating Lord,
the Mighty Lord, the Eternal Lord, the Loving Lord.
Creation with its diversity of noises loud or soft harsh
or gentle, bleating and bellowing; roaring and rattling,
croaking and screeching, gobbling and growling,
each one giving praise to the Living Lord.
Creative pause: | God is surrounding me. |
All things delight in the Living Lord, the Creating Lord,
the Mighty Lord, the Eternal Lord, the Loving Lord.
Let humanity in all its diversity - praise the Living Lord.
Let the beasts, birds and water life - praise the Living Lord.
Let the trees and grasses - praise the Living Lord.
Let the rocks, deserts and mountains - praise the Living Lord.
Let the weather, suns, moons and stars - praise the Living Lord.
Let the celestial and angelic beings - praise the Living Lord. Amen.
Creative pause: | God is supreme over all things. |
