A Call to Worship
Easter Day Year C 2010
Psalm 118: 14-24

This is the Lord’s Day, and we are inspired to worship—
in awe of the glories and wonder of the Lord our God:
We come to worship in the gracious presence of our God.

Our eyes see the blessings of our God, and the strong
arm of God is seen in all its glorious power and majesty:
We will be forever thankful for all God’s goodness to us.

Let us all celebrate together and sing of the wonders of
our God because the faithful love of God endures forever.
The people of God will forever sing God’s praises. Alleluia! Amen!

Prayers of Thankfulness
Easter Day Year C 2010
Psalm 118: 14-24

We stand together within the community faith with our hearts,
minds, and all our beings rejoicing in the Lord’s goodness.
God’s steadfast love has sustained us through all our pain
and sorrow. But now, it is time for everyone throughout the
land to join in a chorus of endless praise, in a response of
sincere worship of the Living Lord, our Holy and wonderful God.

We offer songs of praise to honour the Living Lord, who has
shown the strength of God’s right arm with majesty and power.
There have been times when we have faced testing times, yet
through the mercy of our loving God, we were enabled to
overcome these deadly perils. With joy, we continue to
celebrate our Great God, who enables us to withstand that
latest testing time. Now we have the gift of life in all its fullness.

All these blessings are God’s doing, and with our own eyes
we have seen the wonder and mercy of our God. With joy,
we share together in these opportunities to worship God.
We invite everyone to share in the praise of God - so come
and join in the celebrations of praise that ring out across
the land, because of the mercy of the Lord our God. Amen.

A Personal Meditation
Easter Day Year C 2010
Psalm 118: 14-24

The Lord is my God, and how wonderful you are! I am alive!
My God’s loving nature gifts me with life in all its fullness.
I gather with my friends to share in this new life. I live to sing
God’s praises, God’s loving nature gifts me with a full life.
O my glorious God - what a gift! What a wonderful blessing!

Creative pause: I want to share my experiences of life.

With the mercy and blessing of God, I overcame that deadly
experience. It was a difficult experience – one that really tested
me! I was wallowing in the agony of a death-like experience,
but through the sustaining power of my God, I overcame it!
The Lord my God has given me strength, and keeps a new
song in my heart. I now live to tell all of the wonders of God.
O my gracious God! What a gift! What a blessing!

Creative pause: God sustained me through those tests.

Open the house of God - swing wide all its doors, so that the
redeemed of the Lord may enter, and join together in praise
of the Lord our God. Swing wide all its doors, so that all who
seek the Lord may gather to praise of our wonderful God.
O my gracious God! What a gift! What a blessing!

Creative pause: An invitation to join in the worship of God.
